Easy on the eye

Besides being beautiful, our graphics have been tested to decrease eye strain and improve readability. You can easily change the card size for your preferred size, and change the graphic on the card backs.

We position the cards on screen to increase readibility and to decrease eye strain. Additionally, you can set the size and shape and position of the window to what works for you. Also, easily change the speed of the card animation, or disable animation altogether according to your own personal preference.

Play Solitaire Your Way

Change the way you play solitaire:

  • Auto Play: (our favorite) Use this option to automatically move cards to the foundation. We've found that players quickly find this option to be essential and miss it when it is not available.
  • Unlimited Undo: You can use the undo function to undo one or any number of previous moves. Use this option to go back in time and change your strategy.
  • Restart: Similar to Undo, Restart will start the current game back at the very beginning of the card game.
  • Game Number: Do you want to play a particular shuffle of cards over again to try to win, or to try to get a better time? Just enter the game number and play that exact game as many times as you want.
  • Turn score-keeping on or off: Use this option if you want to turn off score keeping altogether, or turn it back on again.
  • Turn the timer on or off: Do you play to beat your best time, or do you prefer a relaxing game of solitaire? Set the timer on or off as you wish.
  • Separate Players: Each player keeps their own preferences and score keeping for each game-type played.
  • Customize Toolbar: This is another favorite of ours. You can remove icons from your toolbar and re-position them. We like to set the undo button off to the right so that we don't accidentally start a new game when we just want to undo one move.
  • Help: Easily find help in playing Armchair Solitaire, and also help for playing specific solitaire card games. Our help is extensive, with newbies in mind. We like to share our knowledge of how the games are played, including hints and tips to get a better score.
  • Sounds: Turn sounds on or off, for your own personal preference.
  • Winning Animation: Keep the winning animation turned on, or turn it off completely.

Scores are saved for each game type for each player. Statistics can, of course, be turned off completely per player. And saved statistics can be cleared per game for any player, so you can start your score-keeping over from the beginning.

Saved statistics consist of the number of wins and losses, and the percentage of wins. Additionally the top ten for each game are saved and include the score, time, date and game number.
