The typical initial layout of Four Colours Solitaire. The four areas with an "A" in the upper right part of the layout show where the foundation will be build. The four areas in the upper left part of the screen are the four freecells. The rest of the layout is the called the tableau. It consists of four columns, with face-up, overlaping cards. Notice that each column contains cards of just one suit. Three more columns are set to the right of these and are empty gaps in the tableau.
